Dr. Olamide Kolawole, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

About me

I am Dr. Olamide Kolawole, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over eight years of experience in mental health care. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, and other mental health concerns.
Virtual appointments across Texas, Nevada, Iowa, New Mexico and Arizona, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Conditions treated

  • Perinatal & postnatal mental health — pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, and the mood changes that can follow childbirth.
  • Anxiety & OCD — generalized anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the intrusive thoughts people are often most reluctant to describe.
  • Depression & bipolar disorder — including the persistent low mood many people assume they simply have to live with.
  • ADHD — evaluation, diagnosis and ongoing management, for adolescents and for adults never assessed as children.
  • PTSD — trauma-related symptoms, in adolescents and adults.
  • Insomnia — sleep difficulties, whether standalone or alongside another condition.

Services

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation — a full assessment of history, symptoms and goals.
  • Medication management — prescribing, monitoring and adjustment over time.
  • Supportive psychotherapy — provided alongside medication management at each visit.

How I work

My approach is rooted in compassion, evidence-based practice, and collaborative care. Medication works best when someone actually knows your history and has time to hear how things are going, so every visit includes supportive psychotherapy alongside the prescribing. I want your appointment to feel like a conversation, not a checklist. We build the plan together, and you stay in charge of it. If you are already seeing a therapist, I work alongside them rather than in place of them.

Your first appointment

Your initial evaluation is an unhurried conversation, with enough time to go through your history, what has been happening, and what you want to be different. You will leave with a treatment plan, and any prescriptions go straight to your pharmacy. Follow-up visits are unhurried too, with time to talk about what is working and what is not.
